Ensure seamless, high-quality execution of zerothird's communications and public affairs program

zerothird is currently building the European quantum network and this role ensures the world knows it. We are seeking an operationally hands-on communications professional to serve as the primary interface between the company and its strategic communications partners. You are zerothird’s internal engine for communications execution and content creation, a skilled practitioner who translates strategic direction into concrete output. You are the person who makes things happen, keeps them consistent and holds every external touchpoint to zerothird’s standards. It is a senior operational role with real responsibility and direct impact.

Key Responsibilities

Communications Hub & Single Source of Truth

  • Serve as the single coordination point through whom all communications decisions, inputs, and outputs flow
  • Build and own zerothird's AI-supported knowledge base: approved messaging, narratives, assets, and institutional knowledge - always current, always accessible
  • Enforce narrative consistency across every output and every channel
  • Turn leadership strategy into a concrete, sequenced operational plan

Agency Interface & Project Management

  • Own the relationship with our external communications and public affairs consultancy: brief, review, push back, and deliver
  • Drive internal sign-off processes; track milestones and open items across all active projects
  • Escalate decisions to management fast, with context and a clear recommendation

Content Creation

  • Continuously mine for content: extract proof points, developments, and stories from R&D, Sales, Management, and external sources and turn them into communications material before the moment passes
  • Review and quality-check for factual accuracy, brand consistency, and tone before sign-off
  • Maintain a structured content calendar aligned with the broader campaign plan

Channel Management

  • Own and operate zerothird's communications channels: website, LinkedIn, newsletters, and owned event formats
  • Manage the content lifecycle from briefing through publication; implement targeting concepts
  • Drive SEO and digital visibility - ensure zerothird is findable where it matters

Corporate Identity

  • Be the internal guardian of zerothird's corporate identity across all formats and channels
  • Work with external design resources to enforce brand standards

Public & Governmental Affairs

  • Act as the operational counterpart to the external consultancy’s public affairs leads: schedule meetings with political stakeholders, prepare briefing materials, follow up on engagement activities
  • Monitor relevant regulatory and policy developments and flag them internally

Campaign Execution

  • Coordinate the production of campaign assets as the internal project owner on zerothird's side
  • Manage timelines, external inputs, and internal review cycles for each campaign element
  • Track and report KPIs in a structured format

Your Profile

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in communications, public affairs, or agency account management
  • Fluent in German and English - written and spoken, at the highest professional level. Additional languages a plus
  • Strong written output: you can draft press releases, LinkedIn posts, and political briefings in the same week - all without heavy revision
  • Sharp eye for visual quality and corporate identity - you notice when something is off and you know how to fix it
  • Proven experience managing external agencies - briefing well, pushing back constructively, holding partners accountable
  • AI-native working style - you use AI tools to produce faster, structure better, and maintain the knowledge base that keeps this operation running
  • Structured, proactive, and diplomatically assertive - comfortable managing upwards and sideways
  • Familiarity with deep tech, cybersecurity, or policy-adjacent sectors is an advantage; start-up or scale-up experience is a strong plus

The minimum gross salary for this position is €3.586,73 per month (based on full-time employment) in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. However, there is a willingness to offer a higher salary depending on experience and qualifications.
